Thanks to everyone who contributed, volunteered to help out and attended our very successful and highly enjoyable event during the Easter holidays.
Again the school community provided very generous and splendid offerings for our bake/cake sale, without these we couldn't hold such an event!
There were a large number of cup cake entries by our children in the competitions which were of a very high standard....so well done to all!
A huge thank you once again to Marie Crowley and her mam who provided the spectacular Easter cakes for our raffle!

Oxford Reading Tree (Levelled Readers) Jan/2015

posted 22 Jan 2015, 09:28 by Crehana PAFC   [ updated 22 Jan 2015, 09:29 ]

This year Crehana N.S. has started using levelled readers. This means that each child will be reading a book at their own level, thus replacing class readers.

The school has been very fortunate to have received a kind donation from Dr. Noel Kelly. We used this to purchase Oxford Reading Tree levelled readers for the junior part of the school this year.

With your help we hope levelled readers will be purchased next year for 1st and 2nd classes. It is hoped that Crehana N.S. will eventually be able to provide levelled books for all children.

Oxford Reading Tree:

The UK's number one reading programme has taught millions of children to read... and to love to read. Rooted in reading for pleasure and with systematic phonics at its heart, Oxford Reading Tree's well-loved characters, breadth and unrivalled support give you everything your children need to become confident readers.

  • Rigorous synthetic phonics teaching gives children a secure first step on their reading journey
  • Over 800 books provide a rich and varied choice of writing styles, genres and artwork styles at every level
  • Underpinned by Oxford Assessment & Levelling so you can assess every child and ensure they progress
